Bandon Dunes
The Bandon Dunes Collegiate Championship has been canceled for 2024 due to rain. Most of the golfers barely got through nine holes in the first round on Monday before play was stopped for the day. Sunday's first round was also postponed due to rain. The Championship will return in 2025.
PREVIEW
The 15th annual Bandon Dunes Collegiate Championship, hosted by the University of Idaho, tees off March 10 to March 12, 2024, at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore. A field that boasts top talent every year is back at one of the top golf courses in the country.
Oregon is back to defend its title from the last two seasons.
HISTORY
The premiere collegiate golf tournament in the Northwest, the 15th Bandon Dunes Championship, is on the Pacific Dunes Course on the idyllic Oregon Coast. The three-day tournament includes 54 holes of challenging golf with a diverse national field.
The tournament began in 2010 and has seen the best of college golf compete on the five courses at the resort. Notre Dame won the first tournament in 2010, and past team champions include Washington, Missouri, Duke, Clemson, Arizona State, and Oregon. Hundreds of golf student-athletes have participated in the previous 13 tournaments, including future pros Wyndham Clark, Bryson DeChambeau, and Xander Schauffele, among others.
Gonzaga University hosted the tournament from its inception, but the University of Idaho took over hosting duties in 2020. Idaho coach David Nuhn is the tournament organizer and heads the rules committee for the event since taking over hosting duties. Nuhn participated in the tournament during his time as a student-athlete, finishing second in the inaugural tournament in 2010.

COURSE
At Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you'll find four distinctly different courses built on a beautiful stretch of sand dunes perched 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean. Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes feature a dozen holes that run along the bluff overlooking 23 miles of sweeping, undisturbed shoreline. Bandon Trails starts on the coast and moves inland to discover the rugged Oregon forest.
Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes and Bandon Trails — weren't built as much as discovered by their award-winning architects. One of those architects, Tom Doak, returned to collaborate with Jim Urbina and Bandon Dunes' latest course Old Macdonald, a tribute to the great architect CB Macdonald. A spectacular par-3 course designed by Bill Coore called The Bandon Preserve will open in June of 2012.
