Southwestern Am: McGreevy holds lead
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz (June 20, 2013) -- Max Mcgreevy of Edmond, Oklahoma, followed his three under par 67 Wednesday with an outstanding 65 (-5) for a three-day total of 206 (-4) to take a three-shot lead into the final round at Desert Mountain.
Andrew Cornella of Colorado Springs, Colorado, shot 66 (-4) to join local player Jimmy Kozikowski and Ryan Mulvany of Reno, Nevada, in a tie for second place at 209 (-1).
Brian Campbell of Irvine, California, fired the low round of the day, 64 (-6), to move up twenty-four spots to fifth place. Twenty-four players are within eight shots of the leader as final-round play is set for Friday
ABOUT THE Southwestern Amateur
72-hole stroke play championship for national-level
amateurs with a handicap index of
1.4 or better. After 36 holes, the field will be
cut to the low 36 and ties. The
SWGA Selection Committee will select players
to
compete based upon
exemptions, playing resume and rankings.
The SWGA reserves the right to invite
amateurs of national and international
reputation, as well as other amateurs "of
note", to enter into the tournament.
