Doug Hanzel (Savannah, Ga.) shot a final-round 4-under 68 -- the low round of the day by four shots and the low round of the tournament -- to complete a comeback win in the Society of Seniors (SOS) Ralph Bogart Championship at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Hanzel, who shot a pair of 74s and sat in sixth place heading into the final round, made six birdies on Wednesday (three on par 3s) to finish at even-par 216, two shots ahead of overnight co-leader Rusty Strawn (McDonough, Ga.). Strawn shot a final-round 72.

The other 36-hole co-leader Frank Vana (Boxford, Mass.) posted a 74 to finish another two shots back, tied with Keith Decker (Martinsville, Va.) and Ken Kinkopf (Jupiter, Fla.), who each closed with 73.
For Hanzel, it was the continuation of a stellar season. It was his 7th win in a major senior ranking points event, and the third SOS win to go along with the SOS John Kline and SOS Dale Morey Championships in October. He leads the AmateurGolf.com Senior Player-of-the-Year points race, an honor he has earned three times previously (2013, 2016, 2017).
With his third place finish, Kinkopf stayed firmly is second in the points race, on the strength of five senior points tournament wins including three SOS championships.
The final two senior points events will be the upcoming Golfweek Senior Tournament of Champions, followed by the Dixie Senior Amateur.
In the Super Senior division, Stephen Fox (Barboursville, W.V.) shot a final-round 75 to win by two shots over Jerry McMullen (Carmel, Ind.).
Jack Ramsey (Germantown, Tenn.) closed out a three-shot win in the Grand Master division, with George Washburn (Frederick, Md.) finishing solo second.
