Chanticleer National Senior: Bob Royak, Jack Larkin Sr. distance from the field

Bob Royak of Alpharetta, Ga., and
Jack Larkin Sr. of Atlanta, Ga., have created some distance from the field at the 2024 Chanticleer National Senior Invitational at Greenville Country Club, Chanticleer Course, in Greenville, S.C.
Royak and Larkin are both 4-under after rounds of 70-70 from Royak and 72-68 from Larkin. The 4-under 68 second-round from Larkin is the low round of the tournament to this point.
Larkin is coming off a win at the prestigious Jones Cup Senior Invitational. Royak finished T5 at the Jones Cup Senior and in solo second place at the Gasparilla Senior.
Royak is currently ranked No. 1 in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings and was named the 2023 AmateurGolf.com Senior Player of the Year. Larkin is ranked No. 14.

Matthew Sughrue of Arlington, Va., and Robert Sheats of Atlanta, Ga., are T3 at even par, four shots back of the leaders. Rick Stimmel of Pittsburgh, Pa., is in solo fifth place at 1-over, and Jack Hall of Savannah, Ga., is in solo sixth place at 2-over.
In the Super Senior Division, Emile Vaughan of Pike Road, Ala., is in solo first place at 5-over and leads the field by one shot.
James Pearson of Charlotte, N.C., Mike Poe of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Keith Waters of Raleigh, N.C., are all T2 at 6-over and one shot back of Vaughan with 18 holes remaining.

The limited field is determined from the pool of applicants, with preference given to players' performance in national and international events as well as the current rankings. ABOUT THE Chanticleer Senior Invitational
The Chanticleer National Senior Invitational started
in 2011 with the vision that it would provide a
superbly conditioned, very challenging course on
which to present a premier invitational tournament
for elite senior and super senior golfers recognized
for their playing accomplishments on a national and
international scale. The limited field is determined
from the pool of applicants with preference given to
players' performance in national and international
events as well as the current rankings. As an
integral
part of our vision, we provide extraordinary
hospitality and great value to both our players and
their significant others.
The Senior Division competition will be for players
55-64, as well as other
older qualified players who may desire to play in this
division. The Super
Senior division will be for players 65-70, as well as
other older qualified
players who prefer to play at Chanticleer. There will
be a cut after 36 holes.
As an option for Legends, we will host a separate
70+ Legends division at
our Riverside course provided we have a minimum
number of 16 players.
There will NOT be a cut.
