In June, Massachusetts golf was thrust into the limelight during the U.S. Open. The Country Club held up its end of the bargain, delivering an entertaining week of golf. Golf in the Bay State, however, runs far deeper than just the big country clubs that are hosting USGA events.
Massachusetts has a strong Golf Association that celebrates the sport at every level. Our guests help highlight how golf, even in a cold climate with a short season, is available to anyone and everyone.
Jesse Menachem, joins the panel as the CEO of MassGolf. He has been with the organization for nearly two decades after starting as a Boatwright Intern.
Herbie Aiken is a Mass Midam and Mass Four-ball champion and has played in the biggest amateur events around the country.
Shannon Johnson is a US Women’s MidAm champion and 2021 MassGolf Women’s Player of the Year.
Our fourth panel member is Jim McCabe, a veteran writer who covered the PGA Tour for more than 20 years but has found himself writing more and more about golf in his home state.
Panelists:
Jesse Menachem: CEO of MassGolf
Herbie Aikens: Mass MidAm Champion, Mass Four-Ball Champion, played in multiple USGA events including US MidAm.
Shannon Johnson: 2021 MassGolf Women's Player of the Year
